Jianwen CaiVisiting Student Researcher

biography

Hello! I’m Jianwen Cai, please feel free to call me Jianwen or Jeroen. I am currently a visiting student researcher in the Aghaeepour Lab at Stanford University, where I focus on applying artificial intelligence to advance perioperative medicine.

Concurrently, I am pursuing my M.D. in Anesthesiology at West China School of Clinical Medicine, Sichuan University. My clinical training has provided me with a solid foundation in medicine, while my research experience has allowed me to lead several projects in machine learning and large language models applied to healthcare.

My doctoral work centers on developing an intelligent system for dynamic prediction and real-time decision support to prevent postoperative pulmonary complications. The project unfolds in three phases: first, building predictive models and designing the clinical interface; second, evaluating system usability with anesthesiologists in simulated environments; and finally, validating its effectiveness through a multicenter cluster randomized trial assessing impacts on patient outcomes and clinical practice.

I am always eager to collaborate at the intersection of medicine and AI, if you’re working on something exciting in this space, let’s connect!
