Biography
Hi! My name is Mihir Borkar and I am a 2nd year PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Data Science program at Stanford. I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Biology from Caltech in June 2023. After graduating, I had an internship at a computational biology startup called Nuanced Health for a few months, where I developed a results visualization tool for gut metabolite mass spec analysis in mice for the discovery of novel drug targets. During my undergrad, I did summer research on single-cell RNA sequencing analysis in the lab of Lior Pachter, and had an internship with Barbara Engelhardt’s lab at the Gladstone Institutes on a live-cell imaging project. During high school, I worked at the NASA Ames Research Center in the HCI Group on several research projects to help astronauts schedule and perform procedures during analog and space missions.
Interests
My current research interests involve developing AI/ML methods to combine EHR and omics data to predict patient outcomes.
Play
During my free time I enjoy watching science, math, and history videos on YouTube, binge-watching drama, action, and politics shows on Prime Video, and listening to music.
