Junmo KimPostdoctoral Scholar

Biography

I am a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University, advised by Dr. Nima Aghaeepour. My research interest is leveraging electronic health record (EHR) foundation models with diverse types of medical data to prevent disease progression, alleviate medical workforce shortages, and reduce healthcare expenditures.

Previously, I completed my PhD in Bioengineering at Seoul National University, where I actively worked with my advisor Prof. Kwangsoo Kim (Dissertation Title: Toward Multimodal Electronic Health Record Foundation Models). Before my doctoral studies, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management Engineering and Mathematics from Korea University in 2021.

During my PhD course, I have experienced various types of medical data, specifically electronic health records (EHRs), including OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) and Clinical Data Warehouse (CDW), and physiological signal data, such as electrocardiogram (ECG).

Play

Outside of work, I enjoy playing acoustic guitar and basketball. I also enjoy cooking Korean dishes.
