Anders Hagen JarmundVisiting Student Researcher. MD, PhD Student (NTNU)

Biography

I am pursuing a PhD in medicine at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), researching pregnancy and preeclampsia. During the spring 2025, I am visiting Nima’s lab to explore suitable methods for machine learning and multi-omics integration. My research focuses on maternal-fetal interaction during pregnancy, and how local processes in the placenta and the decidua are reflected systemically in maternal serum. We aim to identify and characterize the biological and mechanistic subtypes of preeclampsia.

Play

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and photography, and occassionally play the organ. While away from friends and family, I’ve been enjoying the parks and good weather in California.
